JAMEL is a dynamic performer with an expressive and emotional vocal range. Although originally founded in R&B his appeal crosses over most musical boundaries. Harlem bred, he is presently living and recording in the suburbs of New York.
JAMEL started his career performing in a family band with his two brothers including his father on drums. The group eventually evolved into an exciting R&B act featuring precision choreography with JAMEL as lead vocalist. Some of their most noted performances include a special appearance at the WALDORF ASTORIA with GLADYS KNIGHT and BILL COSBY and several appearances on the world famous SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO and AMATEUR NIGHT AT THE APOLLO in which they won significant first-place finishes. JAMEL’s performance credits include acting in various OFF BROADWAY stage plays and musicals.

José Fernando was born in 1977, in the province of Santiago, Dominican Republic. From an early age and throughout his life, Jose Fernando has demonstrated an unusual and exceptional ability for music, voice and dancing. He developed his violin and musical lectures studies at Bellas Artes at Santiago, Dom. Rep. He also participated in various choral groups and was continually selected to be the lead soloist in these groups.
Because of his artistic talents, in 1996, José Fernando received a scholarship to Pontificia University Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), which is one of the most renowned universities of the Dominican Republic. He received Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Marketing and Business Administration in the years 2000 and 2002, repetitively. While attending PUCMM, he participated in and made a huge name for himself by becoming Part of the University Groups TUNA, Los Aces and the Vocal Music Group at PUCMM. He Performed in literally hundreds of events and concerts during this period and received numerous awards, certificates, trophies and plaques in appreciation, versatility, stage presence, vocalization and overall entertainment savvy.
In the years after graduating from PUCMM, Jose Fernando continued to perform in concerts and others events with his own group named “Piel Café” captivating the audience with his powerful voice and his excellent interpretation..
Jose Fernando arrived in the United Stats in 2004, to complete a master degree in Hospitality Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. However, his love, devotion and passion for music, have guided him in young man hopes to take his artistic career to a professional level and transcendent the production, which has themes written by him.
The first single, “Tu Foto”, composed by Mario Liriano, promises to be a hit that will take this young artist to reach the musical peak in the city of New York and worldwide. His innovative style, command of the stage and charisma, José Fernando is a newly arriving star who represents the emerging Dominican Latin Culture and Pop music scene.
